Unsolved mysteries

How can a whole bowl full of salad represent only one of my daily fruit and vegetable portions? It filled up the ENTIRE PLATE!

If my iPod is totally random why has it played three songs (out of 4478) from the only Porcupine Tree album I own this morning?

Why can I not think of a single album I want to buy when I have birthday money sitting in my account waiting to be spent, but I can think of ten when I am skint?

*update* on [livejournal.com profile] sadaprilsky's advice I have now ordered Adoration's album as what I've heard on their myspace is really good!

If its truely random, then its just as likely to do that as play 3 songs from 3 different artists!

I know, but it's never played anything from that album before and it was a bit freaky :-)

Have you considered:

Black Kids' Partie Traumatic

http://www.myspace.com/blackkidsrock

(Check out I'm Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How To Dance With You)

Or Adoration's Sleepwalking

http://www.myspace.com/adorationuk

(Check out all the songs. They're all brilliant)

Both bands sounds like The Cure, yet not much like each other.

Or CSS' Donkey

http://www.myspace.com/canseidesersexy

(Not out for a couple of weeks I admit)

Or David Bowie's Live Santa Monica '72

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Live-Santa-Monica-David-Bowie/dp/B00166QJRU/ref=pd_ts_m_h__26?ie=UTF8&s=music

Or... actually that's all I can think of... :-)

Thank you for the tips, my favourite music reviewer, I will look into them and report back. An eclectic selection, and you're right I do feel like a new release rather than replacing vinyl which never feels exciting even remixed and with extra tracks.

My work here is done. :-)

Yes - She joined up a while back

Somewhat amusingly, almost ever since apple released the ipod shuffle they've had accusations levelled at them that they had somehow been paid off by major record labels to favour their tracks in their randomising algorithm. Still, to avoid myself rambling along annoyingly and pointlessly I shall instead provide you with this link. Which isn't quite going to answer all your questions but may hopefully at least succeed in not making me appear too obsessive again! :P

I don't think it's sinister or anything, but my iPod does seem to have a personality and it is markedly different to my iTunes party shuffle which particularly likes the Jesus and Mary Chain :-)
