bethnoir: (waterhouse)
So, I walked into the kitchen yesterday and wondered why my feet were suddenly wet. As the strip light flicked on I could see that the reason for this was that there was water dripping quickly from it to the floor. Turned off the light and there followed about fifteen minutes of running about trying to find torches, towels, pliers (the stop cock tap is impossible to move we discovered) before finally establishing that is was the fault of the worn out bath tap which I hadn't turned off hard enough. Water ran down the tap, under the bath and then through the kitchen ceiling. At least we've stopped it now. Not very impresssed with our bathroom though and I bet the plumber will cost more than we expect...

Went to try out the new uber-Tesco they have built instead of the reasonably sized one closest to me today. There was one good thing about it, the smell of new, unopened books. Admittedly books I probably wouldn't read (paperback chart and Mills and Boon), but the aisle of pristine books was empty and an oasis of calm amongst the bustle. It reminded me of Paddington train station, everyone in a rush, everything big and shiny, and full of stuff I don't want. One thing I've never seen before was cooked baby octopus in oil in a jar. Don't think I'll be buying that, wouldn't like to upset Cthulhu.

Trying out the new last.fm linky thing, so you can see whatever embarrassing thing I'm listening to as I write. Don't laugh!
