Twelve/thirteen
Dec. 13th, 2008 02:39 pmHad an internet light day yesterday due to work, followed by work Christmas meal in the evening. I did check Readers Recommend to see the topic, but songs about boredom don't really interest me. Having thought of Iggy Pop's 'I'm Bored' I decided not to bother. I like songs which encapsulate a more interesting feeling or event than that, maybe I'm just peculiar and not very punk. Wouldn't surprise me.
My work meal was entertaining. I wasn't drinking which is a double edged sword. I get to observe my colleagues getting tipsy which can be funny, but can also be rather dull. Anyway, the goats cheese urgh was so yuck I didn't really eat much of it, don't know why meat eaters think vegetarians want tomatoey gunge as an accompaniment to everything they eat, I for one don't! My colleagues (all female except one young man) were very glamourous and good company.
I left before the dancing started in earnest. Mr Bethnoir is getting better, but still in the throes of a chest infection and I didn't want to desert him for long with the children, even though they were in bed for most of the time I was out. I did get to see my sons teachers making some shapes to Madonna as their school's Christmas do turned out to be at the same venue (University of the West of England). Said hello and admired their taste in party dresses.
So two Advent Calendars in one day for you lucky people
