Winter sickness
Dec. 19th, 2005 04:40 pmThings I love about winter: darkness is a great excuse to stay in, read and listen to music, get to wear all my favourite warm hooped tights, velvet hats are a reasonable item to wear and staying in bed under a big duvet when it's cold outside.
Things that I don't love: my whole family getting chest infections, Christmas shopping and strawberries get really expensive.
Still, I have been listening to lots of music (faves at the moment still Elusive, Devendra Banhart and Nick Cave), and currently reading a biography of Jim Morrison, who I haven't been fascinated by for quite a few years, but as it's painting quite a critical picture of his young life that is no bad thing.
My son was impressed that Andrew Collins read out my review of his school nativity play. It was actually very professional and all lines were learned and there were no wardrobe malfunctions. I think it made me a bit weepy because it was my little person on a stage, being a public figure, quite independent of me. He lost two milk teeth this week too, it seems really recently that he kept us up all night getting them as a little baby!
