Exciting weather

bethnoirI know it's terribly British to discuss the weather, but honestly I've never seen as much hail fall in a short space of time as it has today.
For variety, there has been thunder, sudden sunshine, a rainbow, sleet, rain and continuous, very strong wind. Unusual bits of the house were rattling which woke me up at 4am, it's no fun being a homeowner, I tell you. I dreamt that our paper recycling blew all over the street, but in my dream it was my confidential waste and old letters instead of free newspapers and flyers. In reality my "put-a-brick-on-top-of-the-lid" technique worked and I didn't have to chase soggy paper down the road.
In between the violent hail storms, I took a walk, to where I thought my son's carol concert was being held (about half an hour away), but it had been cancelled at the last minute due to "unpredictable weather". I decided to enjoy the journey and wandered by the local river, it was muddy but invigorating and I felt part of the great outdoors, which is something I've been missing lately. Took this photo
which I'm pleased with, and did some exercise, so no loss really.
